Verizon Unlimited Plans Features

What Verizon Unlimited Plan Is Best?

On the surface, these four unlimited plans may look pretty much the same . They each come with unlimited talk, text, and data. But there are actually some significant differences. This chart breaks it all down.

Data effective 5/02/2022. Offers subject to change.* Data speeds can be throttled after reaching data cap

As you can see, the real difference between these plans comes down to data allotment and perks.

The 5G Start plan is the cheapest, but your data speeds can be deprioritized at any time, making it hard to reliably stream, game, or work on your phone. This plan also comes with no mobile hotspot data, and you have to pay extra for ultra-wideband 5G.

The Play More and Do More plans are quite similar. They both come with 50 GB of high-speed 5G/4G LTE data , 720p streaming quality, and 25 GB of hotspot data. Play More gives you more free subscriptions and Do More comes with Verizon Cloud storage and other business perks.

The Get More plan has pretty much all of the above : Unlimited premium data , 720p video streams, free subscriptions, cloud storage, plus 50 GB of hotspot data! Its a real powerhouse of a plan.

If youre confused about 5G, dont worry. Youre not alone. Its a new mobile technology that basically means that youll get faster data speeds. But there are different kinds of 5G.

What Are Verizons Return Policy And Early Termination Fee

In general, Verizon accepts returns and exchanges of devices within 30 days, but it still charges you a $50 restocking fee. Heads up: you can exchange your device only once, so make sure your second choice is a match made in heaven.

As with any big company, Verizons return and early termination policies are pretty lengthy. We recommend reading through them if youre considering canceling your service or returning your device.

What’s The Best Verizon Plan For Seniors

Verizon only operates one plan for Seniors – its 55 Plus plan , which currently starts at $60 for one line and $80 for two lines. It’s actually a very generous plan for Verizon, but currently it’s open to Florida residents only unfortunately. If you’re a senior living outside of Florida, we recommend checking out our alternatives just down below.

Verizon Prepaid Data Plans

Verizon prepaid data plans are a somewhat newer addition to the carrier’s site and are essentially replacements for the old shared data plans. They’re designed for multiple cellular devices to use but don’t feature any of the usual minutes or texts you’d get with a standard phone plan. Unlike the old shared data plans, they’re also prepaid now instead of postpaid, which makes them pretty flexible in regard to contracts.

Note, Verizon prepaid data plans are best used as add-ons to an existing prepaid phone plan. Upfront, these plans are quite pricey but adding them to an existing account means a $30 per month discount per line. Here’s the pricing:

  • 5GB plan$40/mo
  • 25GB plan$60/mo
  • 100GB plan w/ Ultra Wideband 5G$80/mo
  • 150GB plan w/ Ultra Wideband 5G – $100/mo

As you can see, the two pricier tiers feature unlimited access to Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network. All plan tiers, however, have HD video steam as per standard.

What Are Verizon’s Different Unlimited Plans

over 55 verizon plan

Verizon offers four post-paid unlimited plans: 5G Get More, 5G Do More, 5G Play More, and 5G Start. The top-tier 5G Get More package comes fully loaded with 5G Ultra Wideband support, truly unlimited data, 50GB of mobile hotspot data, and perks like the Disney Bundle. 5G Play More and 5G Do More sport a 50GB deprioritization threshold, 25GB of mobile hotspot data, and varying perks. Play More gets you streaming subscriptions such as Hulu and Disney+ whereas Do More focuses on productivity benefits like cloud storage. Finally, on the low end, there’s 5G Start which lacks UWB, deprioritization, mobile hotspot, and perks but comes with budget pricing.

Verizon Wireless Plans For Seniors

Verizon offers a wireless plan made specifically for seniors, the Verizon 55+ plan. This plan will give you unlimited talk, text, and data. It starts at $40 per month when you sign up for two lines. One sole line will cost $60 per month. Considering this plan also includes service to Mexico and Canada and unlimited mobile hotspot usage, this is a great deal. Unfortunately, this plan is currently available only to residents of Florida who are age 55 or older.

If you live elsewhere, then Id recommend their Verizon Start unlimited plan. Particularly if you need more than one line, this plan is a great deal, giving you the same features of the 55+ plan for as low as $30 per month. That said, just one line will cost you $70 per month.

Age Requirements For Verizon Senior Discounts

Verizon considers seniors as anyone 55 years and over. Theyll verify your age by requiring you to provide your date of birth when signing up for the cellular plan.

All of their other qualifications include:

  • Youre a new customer
  • Live in Florida state: theyll use your billing address to verify you live in Florida
  • Have one or two phones on your account
  • Aged 55 and over

Existing senior customers cant get this discount. And you cant have any more than two phones on your account. Otherwise, youll lose the discount.

Verizon Plan Pricing: Postpaid Vs Prepaid

AT& T, Verizon agree to delay 5G wireless plans after US government request

Like most carriers, Verizon plan pricing falls into two categories – postpaid and prepaid. With the postpaid plans, you’re going to be signing up for a long-term contract and be paying your bills at the end of the month until your term is up. Generally speaking, these plans also entitle you to any number of awesome Verizon deals each month, which will allow you to upgrade or bag a new phone for a cut down rate.

Going prepaid means you’ll generally be paying at the start of each month and won’t be tied down into a lengthy contract. That gives them more flexibility in general, although Verizon does operate a loyalty scheme that reserves the best rates for those who carry on their plan for longer. This is of course a little cheeky as it’s looking to tie people in, offsetting that prepaid flexibility, and it’s also worth noting that Verizon tends to reserve its deals on new phones for postpaid customers only.

Verizon Vs The Competition

The best AT& T plans generally offer the hottest competition for Verizon each month by offering a very similar service, and, on the whole ever-so-slightly cheaper prices across the board. Like Verizon, AT& T has an ever-expanding 5G network and a focus on offering speedy unlimited data plans. When it comes to coverage, AT& T is slightly behind on 4G, however, and it also tends to offer more ‘stripped-down’ plans without the sort of perks that Verizon offers – like free streaming service subscriptions for example.

A really, really great low-cost alternative to Verizon is Visible – which is a smaller prepaid carrier that Verizon actually owns and operates as a sub-network. Visible’s claim to fame is their all-inclusive unlimited Visible wireless plan for just $40 a month – which is absolutely amazing value. Unlike Verizon customers on the main network, however, Visible users will be subject to deprioritization and slower speeds when the network is busy, so bear that in mind.

Also worth checking out is this week’s Mint Mobile plans, which is another top choice if you’re looking to save on your bills. With plans starting at just $15 a month , and an unlimited data plan for just $30 , Mint is definitely a good option for those on a budget or for seniors in particular. However, this prepaid carrier operates under the T-Mobile network, so some Verizon phones may not be compatible unless they’re specifically unlocked.

What Is The Best Verizon Family Plan

Verizon’s postpaid unlimited plans feature compelling multi-line savings. Plus, with most of its postpaid unlimited packages, Verizon throws in sweet perks like the Disney Bundle. You can select the same plans across the board, such as a four-line 5G Get More bundle, or mix-and-match plans to accommodate the whole fam.

Verizon’s Cheapest Unlimited 5g Plan Is Now Even Cheaper

Verizon has announced a discount on its cheapest 5G unlimited plan to make it even more lucrative for new users. However, there are a few caveats.

Verizon has announced a discount on its cheapest 5G unlimited plan to make it even more lucrative for new users. Verizon is the second-largest mobile carrier in the U.S., with a market share of 30.43 percent of wireless subscriptions as of Q3 2022, according to Statista, behind AT& T’s market-leading 44.79 percent, with T-Mobile rounding out the top three. All major network carriers offer a slew of 5G plans for their customers at various price points, and Verizon’s latest move could give them an advantage over its competitors.

Verizon’s new ‘Welcome Unlimited’ plan comes with a $5 discount per line and is available to people signing up for one to four lines as part of the family plan. This will decrease the cost to $25 per line for people with four lines, $35 per line for three lines, $50 per line for two-line plans, and $60 for single-line subscriptions. The plan offers unlimited text, talk, and 5G data for new Verizon subscribers.

1. Senior Nation Plan only available for basic phones, not smartphones

As you have already seen, the Senior Nation plan only has minutes of calls in its helm. You wont need a sophisticated smartphone just to answer and receive calls. That is why AT& T does not offer its Senior Nation plan together with a smartphone. A basic flip phone can do that job. But if you want a phone that lets you watch videos or scroll on your news feed, better stay away from this plan.

2. AT& T Unlimited 55+ discounted only in the Sunshine State

As with other major networks, AT& T Unlimited 55+ is only available in Florida. You must have at least a billing address in Florida if you want to avail this plan from AT& T.

To5macs Take Welcome Unlimited Differences

Its great to see Verizon offering an even more affordable entry-level unlimited plan that includes 5G coverage. Welcome Unlimted starting at $30 per line with auto pay and four lines is $5 below the 5G Start unlimited plan that goes for $35 per line.

The two main differences between Welcome Unlimited and 5G Start are that you dont get the 5GB hotspot and there is the potential to see your speeds throttled in busy areas with the $30 Welcome Unlimited.

More difference is that with the Welcome Unlimited plan all of your lines are on that plan. In contrast, with Verizons 5G Start, 5G Do More, 5G Play More, and 5G Get More, you can mix and match plans on different lines. And like 5G Start, you dont get access to Verizons 5G UWB the fastest flavor of 5G with Welcome Unlimited.

However, if you really just need the most basic unlimited plan and want Verizons reliable and fast network, Welcome Unlimited looks like a solid value.

More About Unlimited Data Plans And Perks

AT& T’s unlimited plans no longer have much in the way of perks. The carrier used to offer a free subscription to HBO Max with its top Unlimited Elite offering , but it got rid of the option in early June.

It is also worth reiterating that carrier perks — like Verizon and the Disney bundle or T-Mobile’s offering of Netflix, Paramount Plus, ViX Plus and Apple TV Plus — are often limited to one subscription per account, not one for each line you have.
