GreatSchools ratings based on test scores and additional metrics when available.
About the ratings: GreatSchools Ratings are designed to be a starting point to help parents compare schools, and should not be the only factor used in selecting the right school for your family. Zillow and GreatSchools recommend that parents tour multiple schools in-person to inform that choice. As of October 2020, the GreatSchools Ratings methodology continues to move beyond proficiency and standardized test scores. The latest methodology prioritizes student growth through measures of equity and school quality. Learn more

Long Beach Senior Arts Colony
The Senior Arts Colony is a 200-unit senior affordable housing community which marks the northern gateway into downtown Long Beach. Following completion, the SAC has become a catalyst for revitalizing the surrounding neighborhood.
Several market-rates, mixed-use projects have begun construction nearby and the City has released a program to assist in renovating neighboring commercial storefronts. In addition, SAC residents have become community stakeholders, successfully petitioning the City to improve a park one block away.
Considered a Transit Oriented Development, the project is located immediately adjacent to light rail and bus transit stops that provide access to educational, medical, retail and employment centers. The design, amenities, and programs of the SAC are geared toward active, income-qualified seniors aged 55 years and over with a passion for the arts. The community promotes healthy aging emphasizing creativity, wellness, lifelong learning, and independence.
Part of a transit-oriented master planned development, this thirty-nine unit very affordable housing project is the first phase of a mixed use, mixed-income, multi-generational development. Located in a pedestrian-active, dense, multifamily neighborhood, the ground and second floor parking is lined with amenity spaces along 12th Street in order to create a lively and inviting storefront.

Long Beach Senior Arts Colony A Development Of Meta Housing Corp Has Been Completed The Property Is A New
Long Beach, Calif. Long Beach Senior Arts Colony, a development of Meta Housing Corp., has been completed. The property is a new-construction TOD with 200 units designed to provide affordable housing for seniors.
The development has a number of unusual amenities, in that its focused on creating an artistic environment, as Meta Housing puts it. Namely, theres an art gallery, 99-seat performance theater, working arts and dance studios, as well as a digital media room and grand piano salon. On-site arts classes are offered at no cost to residents, conducted by Meta Housings nonprofit partner, EngAGE.
The concept isnt quite new, since Meta Housing developed the 141-unit Burbank Senior Artists Colony in 2006, as well as the 126-unit North Hollywood Senior Arts Colony in 2012. According to recent gerontological research cited by the developer, the arts can positively impact the health of older individuals. In addition to its arts-focused amenities, the property provides over 15,000 square feet of community space, including a fitness room, yoga/meditation room, computer room, game room, dog park, community gardens and seating area with a fireplace.
As a TOD, the projects location will provide residents with access to public transportation, especially Long Beachs light rail line. Its also close to a number of bus stops.
